Scenes of the city of Long Beach, N.Y., include photographs of the construction of the Boardwalk and various buildings, with pictures of elephants used during construction on the beach; pictures of hotels, casinos, and homes; the Allard K. Lowenstein Public Library, and buildings which formerly housed the library; the Long Island Rail Road station and trains; school buildings, faculty, and members of the board of education; City Hall, mayors, judges, and other city officials; fires, and damage from the hurricane of 1938; aerial views of the city; group pictures of clubs, organizations, and civic groups; crowds on the Boardwalk, ca. 1910; sports teams, and life guard on the Beach Patrol, 1929-1942. Photos and mostly black and white prints and negatives, with a few color prints and clippings.
